Sakura trees by our gallery

Our gallery is surrounded by the cherry blossoms during the spring time.

The Sweet cherry tree, or “Seiyo-mizakura” in the front bears edible cherry and the tree with pink flowers in the back is called “Yaezakura,” which is not so common compared to the famous Somei Yoshino.

Not all cherry blossoms bear cherries, but only Seiyo-mizakura.

I was exited to pick some cherries this year but sadly birds ate all of them.

Well, they are still pleasing to the eye.

Doesn’t our gallery look like the one in the fairy tales…?

Maybe we can find some treasure box buried somewhere, like in the “Hanasakajisan”, the story of an old man who made withered trees to blossom.
